What a quaint and interesting building! And there are so many of them in your area. I'm envious. Certainly you will get some better advice than mine. But, since you asked... I would try to go back right at dusk and take a shorter exposure so that the lights are not so blown out. Then you could darken it to make it look like a night shot. If you can go back, you might try to get a slightly different angle that doesn't include the tree in front of the roof. It's really a neat location, and well worth photographing, IMHO.
