The picture makes me smile - but I see no Bokeh

I'm not sure what you are trying to show here, but this is definitely not about bokeh.

I'm not seeing any Bokeh in this image.

I don't understand this one at all!
10/27/2006 05:26:27 PM
This image seems to have a deep depth of field. Not much bokeh effect at all.

Sorry, I don't see the out of focus area.

I cannot see far enough to spot bokeh :)

There really is no bokeh here. Even loosely defined, bokeh suggests an out of focus area, and this picture is in focus front to back, from what I can tell. Maybe focusing more closely on the sign while making the men in back more blurry would have helped, because the setup is interesting.

Not what I would consider boken, to much detail in background to me.

It all looks in focus too me. It also looks heavily cropped contributing to alot of noise? 3.

Bokeh? Where?

Would have been GREAT with a little more blur to the background.

Nice idea, but the background is really to sharp for bokeh. It's almost in focus.

To get the bokeh effect in this image, it's important to focus on only one area - here the background really should be blurred to the extreme, or even the sign in the foreground. (Use manual focus and a wide open f-stop if possible)
Hope that helps.

The idea of including the sign with the workers is nice in a photo-journalistic sense. The sky helps not at all...a tighter crop might be in order to eliminate the sky and distracting phone lines. Deep depth of field doesn't really help answer the challenge's request for bokeh, either.

Hmmmm this has no bokeh. With an aperture setting around 2.4 - 3.0, you could have achieved it. It's not a very interesting subject matter, but with a blurred bokeh background, it might have had more visual impact. I hope this helps. ;~D

There's no distinguishable bokeh to really consider here...

There doesn't appear to be anything out of focus here. I think you're in for a DNMC pounding. A clever idea, but probably best for a different challenge.

Wrong contest? Or maybe you don't know what Bokeh is...
