My son sitting infront of the fire. Shot in NEF, only adjustments were in the RAW file of exposure and contrast. In PS I only adjusted the levels, resized and sharpened with Nik sharpener. Lighting was SB600 bounced off the left wall

I love the lighting you have on this image. not too sure the bokeh really adds to it though..

this is crooked, and it's not about bokeh. It seems like alot of folks don't really understand what bokeh is.

The pose, muted color, sharpness and lighting are all excellent. Unfortunately the bokeh, where the flame appears to come out of the bear's head acts more as a distraction than providing highlighting support for your main subject. A slightly different placement of the background flame would make a great improvement.

The expression on this boys face is awkward...as if it were caught at the wrong moment. I like the almost sepia toning...but it doesn't really go far enough for me, rather it leaves his skin looking oddly toned. Still puzzling over why the fireplace is not plumb....
