This photo might not be perfect, but it brought back memories. I've got a big memory you see and the first time on the "Draaimolen" is something I will never forget.

The day you dad learns you how to ride a bicycle without sidewheels is very much the same. But when you ride your bike you are usually in your own, friendly, familiar neighbourhood. Your dad runs beside you to catch you when you fall.
The Draaimolen is simular in way because it is one of those things you do by yourself in an unfamiliar setting with strangers around you. Nobody to hold your hand. You can pick the ride you want.
Always been dreaming you want to be a firefighter when you grow up? pick the firetruck. You are nervous the first time, but take the ride anyway and enjoy it so much. You take a glance at your daddy and he stands there smiling, looking proud and you feel so good....

That's what this reminds me about. The hand on his son "you can do it, it'll be fun" and the look on his face. These are the times that I regret it that I am not a dad myself yet....

Excellent BW. I love it. The movement of the carousel and the dad talking to his son - good work.
