 I used the changing leaves outside my family room window as my focal point, but kept a light up pumpkin head in the foreground, and out of focus to compliment the colored leaves and to emphasize the time of year.

I prefer to have the bokeh in the background as I feel out-of-focus forground subjects hurt my eyes. ;-)
