Very beautiful. A superior flower shot. The black and white gives it an almost Robert Mapplethorpe feeling to it.

Eep, the stamen/pistil whoosiwhatsis are like so many mute people, ineffectually gathered around something we can't see. I imagine it's some religious or pagan ritual, sacrificing an animal maybe. Hey, what are you taking pictures of such crazy stuff for? ;-)

I love the black and white, the border, and the composition, and of course the flower. IMO it would have been more breathtaking if it were less soft, the black and white would have still allowed it to keep that "silent" feeling.
