Greeting from the Critique Club!

Artan! Long time no see!
Excellent image here. 'Fraid a lot of people thought it didn't fit the challenge. Their loss. The only change I would make to this image is a curves adjustment to get the bottom to black. It just screams at me that it wants to be black. Other than that, I love the minimalism, the DOF and sharpness of the subject, the use of unusual light. Extremely well done and I am thouroughly intrigued by the boxes. Maybe in a shadow challenge this would have score a point higher.

I think, for me at least, you accomplished your goal - I know the subject is there and I want to get to know it better. I completely believe that less is more. You have given me enough to pique my interest. Sorry for the short critique but there's nothing to critique. Except for the voter's thoughts. But I could spend an hour on that. :) Looking forward to more of your images!

Ohmygoodness! What were they thinking voting this one a 5.1. I think this is so striking! What beautiful lighting! Wow! Just goes to show that a score on dpc is certainly not reflection on the quality of the photo! If I had been able to finish voting on this challenge, I would have given it a 10!

I thought this was quite clever and am rather disappointed to see it this far down the list. I think you were hurt by the drive-by voting speed. Have to stop and really look at this one to enjoy it.

I'm not sure what you were trying for with this very abstract approach, but it's not close enough to a 'Faceless Portrait' to meet the challenge criteria.

Yeah - different. Nicely done.

Good use of light, only problem is, this doesn't strike me as a "portrait". There is nothing to be guessed at the model's character.

I couldn't really tell that the subject in the background is a person. I thought it was a chair or luggage (even kind of resembles the shape of a vacuum cleaner). the lime colored ovals (window shots?) are unique.

This makes me think of a game show for some reason. I really like the lighting though.
