Not quite sure what you are focused on (sunflower head?) I do like the bright yellows contrasting with the black background. Possibly a different angle on this same theme.

shallow DOF doesn't often go over well on DPC...that's not to be confused with poor technique, just that many people don't seem to like it. I think it works well here.

Yes, awesome...a flower photo that tells a story as well. This is a bit emotive also. Love the perfect use of DOF. Very nice!
