Very simply a shot of the morning mist on the fields and hills outside my house. Some minor adjustments in levels and curves, then selective colour alterations on cyan and blues - increasing magenta and reds - as the original is almost entirely blues. Smart sharpen as the haze has made the shot look very blurry, resized and added stroke frame.

A lovely part of the country. Your portfolio is inspiring for the geography it covers if not for the creative eye you have.

Greetings from the Critique Club...

You received some useful comments to the entry and a number of people pointed out the two obvious 'flaws'

soft focus
Horizontal line

Overall the photo is nice, it meets the challenge and the purple tone looks believeable rather than contrived (as in some entries) the composition is fine and the lack of a focal point (as commented) is not really an issue in this style of photo.

I'm assume that the line is a power line or similar, it is a shame it is there and could be cloned out outside of a DPC challenge.

The focus needs work, in this type of shot you can get away with a little softness, but lack of sharpness (rightly or wrongly) is a number one reason for low scores on this site.

All in all a nice effort, that could have scored much better with some small improvements. Good work.

If photo were in better focus, would be excellent

the clouds are beautiful, but I don't like the purple.

I love foggy, hazy pictures. The focus seems just a tad off on the top ridge, eitherwise this would be perfect..

Not a flower and I know it's not really 'Purple' Haze...If it weren't for that line going across the bottom third I'd give it a 10...here's the next best thing...9. Good luck to ya - I hope you crush all them stinkin' flowers!

Nice shot but the horizontal line is very distracting.

Great location. There so many depth of shades. I'd try to control the sharpness. Otherwise this could be a great shot.

very beautiful landscape! it looks like a painting, peaceful and mysterious at the same time. great. not as critics, but maybe I'd crop the sky a bit more, to make it 1/3 (the rule of thirds).

Nice feel but there is no real focal point of subject
