This picture is of my neice. She happened to be wearing a purple shirt when I saw her so I put a purple cloth on the floor and some flowers (purple and pink) around her head. I used a my camera to make the picture black and white with exception of the purple.

This shot is in my top 5 for this challenge. I normally don't like kid shots, but this one is great. I like the post processing too along with the DOF. I think the feet would be very distracting if they weren't in focus. Well done.

Adorable and beautiful art. A fresh new look at purple flowers after viewing so many. Love it!

I hate selective desaturation. I hate portraits when the model is forced to do something unnatural just for the picture. So, why do I LOVE this photograph??

my latest theory: the purple does not accentuate a single thing or even a group of things, it infuses the entire photograph, creating an ethereal effect, and for some reason combines well with gray (a different color and the child would have looked sickly). Then there's the toughness of the child's face, combined with the fact that she is presenting us her feet. Instead of the usual vulnerability expected of the photo's subject, she is well protected, well defended. The flower-in-the-mouth cliche is all about vulnerability. The flower-in-the-feet is all about invulnerability. This shot is a 10.

Superb photo and I love the editing, I do not like the blown out feet though.

She's cute, and you certainly outfitted her well in purple. But why the distortion that makes her feet look so huge?

Interesting pose and model...a bit over exposed though and the shirt looks over processed.
