Nice fish! We have Kingfish here. Wonder if it's the same as a King Mackeral. Looks like it. |

Yes... we ended up with a lot of King. I used a bunch of it for a fish fry on a Boy Scout camping trip last.
At this site, we caught 6 and released 2 kings on the Sunday. On Monday morning we caught 2 kings and numerous ling (or cobia) but only one ling was of legal size.
Fun trip. We fished this oil rig earlier in the summer and caught a ton of sharks and kings (limits). While fishing a 7-8 ft hammerhead shark rolled up beside the boat and hung around. So I rigged up a line with one of the fish we caught and tossed it in.... he took it. We fought the shark for 30-40 minutes and even got it to the side of the boat but he spit out the bait. We didn't have big enough hooks.
Nice site. |

No way!! That's a helluva catch. I'll have to show this to my husband. He's fished there on several occasions. |
