 out and about. saw this osprey in a pine tree near our house. example of the 70-200/4.0L. Great lens. Probably about 100 feet away, 20 minutes after sunset with stormy weather around. i.e. It was pretty dark.
RAW conversion, Noise Ninja, levels, curves, USM, save for web. Shot at ISO 800.

It is indeed a great lens. Tomorrow I'm going to break down and order the tripod collar for it to see just how sharp sharp can be. Damn cheap L lense. Canon's like a drug dealer getting you hooked with a freebie up front, knowing you'll be spending a lot of dough for more later ;).
