Decided to take the challenge literally (no "doesn´t meet the challenge" this time :))

This was a litle tricky since I tried to use as small aperture as possible but the wind was blowing the straws in all directions.

In the processing I had to remove a lot of dust spots and also cloned out some unwanted straws and stuff and a litle dodge on the sunrais. Othervise very straight forward, curves, leves and usm.

Critique Club Review:

Focus is very good. The setting sun sort of burns a hole through the middle of the picture for me.

The large dark area is a little distracting. The taller seeds do not hold their own against the texture of the sky.

What would have really worked for me, is contrary to your other suggestion. Instead of crop the dark space out, crop where darker blue sky starts. This leave the lower seeds intact, and makes for a more dramatic contrast. At least to my eye.

Hmmm. I'm having trouble getting the seed aspect to this. I know the plants have seeds on them, but they don't seem to be the real subject of the image... This is a beautiful shot! The sky is tremendous! It just isn't seedy enough... (Wonder how many times that pun is gonna be used in this challenge! LOL!)

Unfortunately the foreground stalks get lost in the overbright background. I think a less exciting background would help the main subject - the grasses - stand out better.

Cropping out the just below the would have reduced the dark void..even if you did not wish to break the rule of thirds... this would have drawn the rule to the seeds at the top...good image ...8
