 this was shot while shooting media guide shots for the Randolph-Macon College's women's soccer team. this was the 3rd shot. took 1 test shot without the flash, took 1 with, then took this.

basically, they were in a 'circle' and the camera was laying on the ground. i had the drive set to 2" delay.

i'm really stoked about how the image turned out. these women were a fun bunch to work with and the shoot was a blast. you can see more here.

8 - Excellent photo, sure it is treasured. Each and every one seems so naturally happy and at ease. Was just the top section (including lighting), the hand and the wristband on the right, that were the only things holding this back in my opinion, but I'm sure you're likely well aware of it all and yes, it does not have to be 'perfect' to still be an excellent photograph. edit:to add comments

Cute! With their heads closer in and in a more accurate circle, and without the red outfit, they'd almost look like a human sunflower!

Looks just like a closeup of a "human" flower. Maybe a complimentarly colored thin sheet draped over the center could have furthered this illusion.

I LOVE it! If you look at the thumbnail quickly, they almost look like a flower. This is really nicely executed, and even the fact that two of them aren't wearing yellow won't stop me from giving this a 10.

Great pose for a group photo! Lightning is good, colors and composition too. IMHO there ist nothing you could have done better. (Perhaps some structures in the sky would be nice, but I know this isn't a landscape shot where you can come back next day.) Thank you for the smile and good luck for the challenge!
