This was taken on a hike on the Robe Railroad grade in Granite Falls Washington. The rail line use to run between Granite Falls and Monte Cristo in support of gold and silver mines during the early 1900's. This portion of the trail is very intimidating. It is probably 75 feet to the river on the left side, 50 feet to rocks on the right. I have done it probably a dozen times and I am still freaked out by it. The middle of this bulk head is undercut and when you sit back and look at it, you wonder to yourself, why did I do that?
