 I came upon this little insect in the flower bed and with the challeng in mind was fascinated with way the ovals on his back contrasted with the sharp angles of his legs. The first day I forgot that I had set my iso to 800 for another shot previously, so although I was pleased with a "pose" I got and the way it was framed, the background was grainy. I went back this morning and was pleased to find him still in the same area. I shot at three different hours trying to get different lighting positions, using the natural light of the sun. I don't have a macro lens, so shot as close as I could and cropped.

Nice colors, good choice for this challenge. The focus-thing will come, just keep practicing until you're just about cross-eyed :P

I am going to score this highly. I think that technically it is not a "good" photo, as shots like this really need to be in focus (I do adore the colors though!). However, for this specific challenge, the out of focus works, for me. It brings my attention away from "bug and flower" to "lines, triangles, circles, ovals."
