Totally scary bug. Also known as a 'wheelbug' because of that funky thing on his back.

He has a huge beak, which he is sticking in his victim. Beware if you find one in your garden, they bite humans too and I heard it's quite painful.

I've added the tech specs. This was taken with the 50mm - I think of them as faux macros ;-)

Also, I have seen about 6 of these bugs in my vegetable garden now, and I refuse to pick veggies without gloves! Yikes. (they are about 1.5-2" long)
