The way you focus the picture it makes it feel like there's movement in the snake. The closeup is really interesting. I think bring more details in the snake would really help to pop it out of the shot. Some nice shadows and reflections on the snakes head and body makes it feels alive.

Could be a whole lot sharper and crisper. I don't like the background. Could be better if he was in a more natural environment.

He's a cutie! DOF may be a bit tight, as it would sure me nice to get his eyes in sharp focus. i like the very misty feel to this shot.

would have been better if the picture could have been taken without the snake being held in the persons hand.

snake head and face are compelling but the surround is a real distraction as he fades into fuzzy

I would like to have seen greater DOF and better tonal range. I usually like shallow DOF shots, but the snake has interesting textures and the fingers would have provided a better sense of scale had they been more in focus.

i wish that the background were more of a single contrasting color - but its still a strong shot. great "pose" from the little guy. is that a milk snake?
