I came across this little boy and a girl who I assume was his sister while they were playing with a jump rope. I took a series of pictures of them and they became very excited when I showed them the pictures I'd taken. We never spoke a word to each other but I know I will never forgot those kids who were happier than people who are so much more "successful" than they are.

Back to comment: Although your entry fits well in the Simple Pleasures challenge, it appears that the image is out of focus. This could be a result of not sharpening the image after resizing, camera shake, or a result of compressing the file too much (Your image 76 kb - allowable size 150 kb).

Nice model and soft colors... but the focus problem will really take you down. Also would recomend you some cropping. On left side the pipes off, top and right side till fence. That would draw more attention on boy. Keep shoting!

this is just not sharp without a reason. HUUUUGE turn-off.

Some post-processing tasks should have been done. e.g. shadow-lighten.

Needs more focus on the boy IMO, nice colours though

The chalid appears to be out of focus ... there may also be a case for adjusting the curves.

Nice idea and composition. Try to sharpen your image to bring out the detail.

slightly out of focus, but nice composition

Cute kid, but it seems slightly blurry

out of focus

A ten if it had focus!

Man, this shot had real potential. unfortunately that potential is unrealized. The subject is too dark and the focus is quite soft (not in a good way). 5

too dark and blurry ... sorry

This is a really nice image, but I can't get past some technical problems. Some brightening up and sharpening would do wonders. Too bad about the blue fringed blow-out of the sky.

Cute picture and I like the composition...out of focus though :(

I would have liked the boy to be a bit more in focus.

Aww but it looks like the kid doesn't have anyone to play with! The crop could have been tighter, I reckon.

Way to dark

Out of focus... to bad...the picture would have been realy good...

I like the concept of this photo very much but wonder whether it would have been better cropped a little tighter - I am no expert though!

Hmm cool but not very clear
