 This is a clay gargoyle I bought a few years back which sits atop my cupboard at home. I bought this for a few pounds and have taken loads of pictures of it because it is such an interesting subject to me. There is a lot of detail in the gargoyle and I find his eyes and teeth pretty grotesque!

Simple lighting set-up - one single 300w flash head to the camera right, angled down at the gargoyle. No diffusion - I like the deep shadows on this.

This is the first challenge I've entered with my sparkling new Nikon D200 :D
