 My usual mode of operating kind of backfired this time. I shoot something at a low resolution to get exposure,White Balance DOF just right then switch to TIFF or RAW.Well it turned out I like this low res the best because of the head positioning although I moved the tripod slightly later to account for getting mantis and skin at same focal plane.

seems a bit noisy and the lighting seems a bit harsh. not sure why you had to be validated but at least it happened early for you.
