Diamondback VS. Marlins

Open raw in photoshop, made 2 layers, darkened grass and dirt, blur on the grass, second layer for the people erased away all I did not want, cloned dirt out upper right corner of image, crop, USM, Brightness & contrast, re-size and save for the web.

A nice variation on the at-bat action shot -- I just had an entry where I went with the more common ball just-off-the-bat type shot.

It's interesting that you (apparently) don't care that the catcher is cut-off. I don't do sports as a rule ... is it usually considered OK to crop the catcher or ump as long as you have a good shot of batter/bat/ball? (I hope so -- it makes a lot more of my shots "acceptable"!)
