How fortunate that this challenge occurs the same week as the Maryland State Fair. I go to the horse races one day a year, and this was the day, so "Seabiscuit" was a no-brainer. I took pictures while my wife and daughter bet on the ponies. They bet a total of $8.00 on two races and won $7.50 back. Good for them.

Shot with Sigma 70-300 at 92mm.

Not enough light/detail in the horses to make this a really good horseracing shot, and not enough similarity in the characters (horse colors, silks colors) to make this stand out as a really good recreation of a scene from the movie.

Quite appropriate for that movie. Though it doesn't have the same feel as a movie. Needs more atmosphere. This would be more like a documentary than a movie.

nice shot, but the horses seem just alittle out of focus

You don't throw a whole life away just because he's banged up a little...
nice.. love that movie.. sharpness seemed to be the problem here..
Other than that.. framing is alright.. might want to consider using a 6x4 or even a 8x4 ratio, with the subject in the left...

This will make the photo looks more "action-packed" with the horses runing to the right..
6 for me.

Good enough for me. I only saw the trailers, so as far as I know it could be Seabiscuit right there. I'd like the photo more if the first horse was a bit further along.

I don't know why but I don't like the crop. It's a good pic but I would have liked a squarer crop or a more leading lines kind of shot. Still it's well timed good catch.
