Challenge: Scene It! (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG APO IF for Canon
Location: England
Date: Aug 27, 2006
Aperture: F/2.8
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/250 sec
Galleries: Portraiture, Rural
Date Uploaded: Aug 29, 2006

The last scene in the movie is of a woman waving goodbye in the forests. That was good enough for me for this scene! Now my model is a 'little' younger than the woman in the film. I'm sure people will forgive me that tiny fault !?!?!? I think the photo will bomb, it was just one of those pictures I liked. I put the large border on, purely because I liked it - to give it a different feel.

Used curves and levels adjustment layers, played around in shadows and highlights, NN, then applied USM, resized added border, then applied a little more USM.

well, I saw a trailer for this movie and I didn't see anything remotely like this, but it's a nice portrait with a cinematic composition. 5

I haven't seen the movie, but I'll assume this is relevant.

Great use of space and composition. Technically a very sound photo. I like the "letterboxing" that you (and a few others) did to give it that movie still feel. Great job!

Whoa, if you're going to be using that as a title, at least get the period costumes somewhat right. ;>รพ

This is fantastic. Her face may be a bit dark but adorable.

I have never heard of this movie or anyone in it, but I guess that's because it's Australian, and I'm American and I was 11 when it came out. So I don't know how well the scene fits the movie, but you have an outstanding photo here. I really like the lighting and the composition. Her face is blown out maybe just a little bit. I like the black top & bottom border.

Nice... lovely girl..
the cropping can be improved.. give her a little more "leg-room" her shoes were cut off akwardly..
other than that... 6 for me..

the crop is a little tight as the pretty princess just makes it in view...I hope people outside australia know what the movie is...nice composition and depth of field

heh. An interesting interpretation, but with this challenge I was looking for a more literal re-creation of the film, which to me with this film would mean using older people, as it was about college students.

For the shot itself, nice light, interesting pose. Perhaps a little too tight around the girl as her head looks a little clipped. Personal bugbear that I don't like the "widescreen" borders.

I'm not really sure what the relationship between this film and this photo. Maybe I haven't seen it in too long but this film is intense and dark. It made me a Peter Weir fan. The picture isn't bad, I wish it was related to a more suitable movie though.
