 Few touch ups with healing brush under the right eye.
Selective color to cool the colors and bring out the blacks more.
Some dodging and burning in the eyes and the shadows and highlights of the fur.
Saturation in the eyes and slight desaturation overall.
Gradient map overlay.

This is a nice pic, very subtle yet speaks volumes. I have a lab who could pass as his brother. Nice work, I rate high

you ahve done well at geeting the DOF around the eyes but for me they don't hold alot of interest, sorry. looks like a nice companion:)

Composition: 5 - The centered composition works, but its distracting with the bottom of the nose touching the edge of the frame.
Technical: 9 - Great DoF and colour and lighting. I love it :)
Creativity: 5 - Not the most original of pet portraits, but cute all the same, and the lovely golden lighting gives it its own kind of feel.
Appeal: 7 - Really lovely cute photo :) Could have used the full 720 pixels though to let us see more detail.

Very nice expression in the eyes, too bad you did not use a bigger picture. For this challenge we were permitted to use up to 720 pixels.
