This is taken on a road to a private boat landing in Edisto Beach, Edisto, SC. There are many memories that accompany the road, the boat landing and the island that it leads up to. I think it is the epitome of a dirt road, expansive oak trees and spainish moss we enjoy in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.

This is beautiful. I can almost see a horse and buggy going down the lane.

Awesome shot!

The first shadow didn't really catch my eye because I was overwhelmed with the great perspective and detail. You might try softening it with a blur instead of cropping it out. This is a wonderful image and your accompanying stories are really nice, too. Gives them much more meaning and interest.

WOW - Thanks for the compliments and comments!!!!!! I've never noticed the first shadow before - you've got a good point, but I'll have to play around to see if I crop it out, how it will affect the photo; however, it adds more intrigue and mystery to the photograph.

Thanks again!

woowsa! Talk about perspective and leading line and cool!! This is an excellent find, and taken with a dandy eye.

The lighting, the interplay of shadow and light, the curving limbs and straight road, all combine for a visual feast - the eye never gets bored *and* never gets tired of looking.

Very well done.

If I were to pick a nit the only one I can see is the first (closest) tree shadow makes (at least for me) a leading line that doesn't fit with the rest - but this is minor.

Wonderful photo!

Thanks, Sandy! You are the first comment I've received since I joined last night and posted some of my pictures. It is just as beautiful in person as in the photo (if not prettier).
