 Frog jump contest. This is a 45 year old event in Valley City, OH. (At the time of registration, entrants must show that their frogs are being cared for humanely. No frogs were injured or destroyed and after the contest they must be returned to where they were captured.) There were over 625 flights. The event has become so well known, Sports Illustrated showed up to photograph it. Turned out that the photographer and I had a mutual friend whose the official photographer for the Cleveland Cavs. It was a trip sitting next to him and his assistant. Felt like I was in the press corp shooting a super major sporting event! But his lens was bigger than mine!!!

Compositionally uninspirring. The focus could be a bit longer, as the frog is just on the edge of being in focus. I would crop it closer to the frog, since the out-of-focus orange stuff draws the eyes away from the story here.

Cute title. As a snapshot to capture a memory, this is priceless (and I have to remind myself to take more like this!). As a contest entry, it needs something ... Maybe the girl is just too big compared to the frog, so your eye doesn't naturally travel between them. A lower angle to put her face right next to it might make it grab me more.
