Looks like you intentionally kept a lot of the photo out of focus, but it doesn't really work for me. I'd have like it better if more of the leash in the foreground were in focus.

Interesting attempt, but DOF is way too shallow for me

I wish the rope had slightly more in focus and the dog just ever so slightly more in focus as well.

Strange but interesting.

As a newbie with no formal training, I am curious as to its technical correctness.....

I would have liked a little more clarity at the foreground end.

Would like to be able to make out some of the background more clearly. subject is small and somewhat obscure. Lighting effects are very nice. Looks like a beautiful dog back there!

the basic idea is a good one but the execution didn't pull it off. It would have liked the photo more if it were, not necessarily in complete focus, but was less cloudy. I would've also liked it more if more of the rope had been completely in focus

this shot really has potential. It just has too much OOF area. Would have done better to keep at least half the rope length in focus in my mind. As is it just doesnt work for me

I love this photo. A little more in focus at the front of the rope would put it over the top.

I like the idea of the rope in the foreground and its purpose as the background, but I think a little more focus overall would have worked better. There is no part focused enough for me to look at very long, so it doesn't hold my interest. Aslo the lighting is a little strong on the left side.

I need a little more of this shot to be in focus.

BEAUTIFUL idea! perhaps letting us see a bit more of the dog's silhouette, the impact would've been much greater. great potential to scare anyone

Good idea, but no focus on the subject.

Great idea. I would have liked to see more detail of the rope.

Interesting. Soft focus and rope. I would have like one part of the image to be clear. Like the rope end.

Perfectly lovely idea...like the blurred backround but I feel the focus on rope bit shallow and very overexposed...you can guess that its rope but cannot see the detail.6

Just a bit too unfocused for me - just a small bit more aperture would have worked better

perhaps too much depth of field...

I tried this shot but I found that there is so little to focus on the foreground.... Your shot does a better job. The rope frays blend a bit too much in with the background.
