It's simply my favorite knife with a Martha Stewart tag on it, stabbing a 20 dollar bill

Composition - good
Technical Aspects - I'd prefer a little more light on the dollar
Meets Challenge - yes
Visual Impact / Originality - quite good

yep, times are dark when not even Martha is as innocent as she seems
perfect lighting for your message

I think if the lighting was more even, the right side of the knife and bill would be more in focus, and the whole picture would be more effective. Great idea. karmat

Finally, someone mentioning Martha Stewart instead of these cliche money down the drain type of photographs

Big points for creativity. The bill seem slightly out of focus and doesn't seem like it should be for this shot. Great submission.

No, it's funny when I think about it too.

Very sarcastic. I initlally submitted a photo along similar lines but decided it was to sarcastic and didn't know how it would be taken.I chickened out good for you to stick with your conviction.

I get it :) 7, I wish the bill was lit a llitttle more...
07/29/2002 07:08:00 PM
how come the media picking on her
07/29/2002 06:59:00 PM
I like the title, don't quite get it, but thinking isn't my strong suit. Photographically, it's an odd mix of too dark, with some too bright spots, like the end of the knife handle. (Until has just one L, I think) Shine more light directly on the $20, in line with the knife, that should still display the knife, and show off the bill more. Was the Martha Stewart label an manufactured prop? I still haven't figured out how to light the label, the knife and the money without hurting one of them. 5 Swash

A harsh comment of corporate life. Great picture, very atmospheric...

Don't understand (although am aware of the Martha $'s insider trading scandal). Sorry. Image is very dark. You probably did that deliberately but this dark? (my monitor is calibrated okay)

It's kind of scary thinking about Martha, a knife like that and a locked room also, for that matter.
07/29/2002 01:41:00 PM
And even then it's still a little funny.
07/29/2002 12:14:00 PM
it is really funny after i thought about it!! haha
07/29/2002 12:09:00 PM
composition is good but could be sharper
07/29/2002 08:21:00 AM
There's only 1 l in until. Great shot though.
07/29/2002 03:36:00 AM
better lighting would have enhanced blade and pushed my vote up...
07/29/2002 01:19:00 AM
i think the bill lacks lighting - the rest is great, therefore i'd expect a bit more... maybe a large depth of field too?
