This is a flower I saw at the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens. I couldn't believe it when I found Steve in the middle, so I took a picture. I thought, what timing! How lucky since there's a perfect challenge for a Steve shot. Woohoo!

Shot in RAW: adjusted white balance, exposure

In P/S:
Crop
Brightness/Contrast
Burned everything but the flower
Dodged the leaves a bit
Cloned a couple minor tweaks on the flower

Every challenge has has flower images submited to it. They always seem to fit in every challenge. Nice way you placed the ghost figure in the center. Good job. If it overcomes the flower backlash effect this one will be a top finisher.
Being a big fan of flowers and having taken thousands of pictures of them myself I like seeing them inchallenges. This one is no exception except perhaps for that ugly guy hidden there in the middle. LOL! I did see a couple small cactus blossoms during my recent desert trek but there are not many this time of year. - Steve
