was going to use a nice landscape shot. I got a bunch of beach pics from this weekend but I wanted to utilize the no editing rules and do a little drawing on the pic and I liked that idea better on this picture. it's a picture of the window of the oldest wooden school house in the united states. this place was falling APART. its so drafty the wind was getting inside and moving that curtain. well I hope it was the wind. I almost wet my pants when I realized it was moving.

dramatic curves adjustment
levels
added the "help me" and the red "blood"
added some eyes then cloned those out, they looked even cheesier than the rest of it does. lol.
used history brush over words and blood to make it a little more subtle.

thats it.

Thanks for sharing the details of your outing. I love the story about the moving curtain! ;^) I had picked this to potentially ribbon - top 20 is still a very good placing. Congrats!

Brilliant. Execution and idea. Though I have to admit it does just make me laugh, it's not really as scary as could be. Though I'm guessing that wasn't the point.

Old weatherworn buildings will always be fruitful subjects for photography. It does not seem to matter what angles, lighting conditions or perspective you take, they always seem to fascinate. Yours is no exception. This one has good tones and interest in the grain of the wood. You might consider either a complete B&W conversion or leaving muted color only withing the window frame.
Heck, I would have liked to have found a building of any sort for shelter. There was a blazing hot sun out during my walkabout. ;) - Steve

Beautiful! The "help me" is such a subtle element, it took me by surprise when I saw it.

nice shot. framing, exposure, colors all are great. only thing is why not flip it horizontally so that "help me" read correctly?

Great shot. Very nice tone and texture and you've gotten an appropriate message across without being tricky with it. Well done.

Did you pull something off that right shutter (lower left)? The wood is weathered most everywhere else but there. ;^)

Nice picture with great details and texture. composition is very good. At first, I found the letters distractive, but then I read it properly. Well done, should finish in top ten IMO

I love the strong lights and darks here. I'm guessing you used quite a bit of dodging and burning, to great effect.
