To much light from the right side causing that part of your subjects face to wash out.

The model is pretty, but the light is too harsh on the right side of her face.

IMHO this is more the use of DOF than soft focus as the 'models' face appears fully in focus with non of the characteristic looks of a soft focus 'finished' face

There is no soft focus here. Soft focus has a misty character with the edges softened and bright areas turned like fog. It results of light difusion before the lens. This picture is only using a shallow DOF.
