Entering for a laugh here. Very amateurish use of the liquify technique (I have photoshop on a 30 day trial at the moment), plus the composition is a bit all over the place, but I think the subject makes up for that a little bit. This might get a crap score solely on the basis that it's not a 'nature photograph'... but really, where's the fun in that.

I like this shot but not really the vantage point it´s shot from, those two signs infront are really only drawing my eye away from the "vortex" and so is that lightflare up in the left corner. Still really like it and gave this shot a 7 but would potentially had been a 10 and a favorite if you had used a wider lens, gotten in more close behind the signs and pretty much had only the "vortex", possibly shot more from the ground up?

Beautifully done, nice time exposure capture and good technical quality and sharpness. The smoky bluish background is nice. The starburst light on the left and the foreground silhouette add viewer interest to the composition. This image should place very high in voting.
Sometimes I felt like I was sucked into a vortex while I was lost. If it would have been here at least I could have said I got dizzy and that is why I could not find my way back out again. :) - Steve

something very jarring about this photo - but in a good way, in a sense. It really sucks you in (no pun intended). The bright and shiny colors become garish and are at odds with the emotion felt (carnival! yay!). And the spin of the ride only adds to the tension. Somehow, I believe, this carnival ride is one from hell. Maybe its due to the shadow of something being 'sucked in.' I think the crop is a little off on the left but I wasn't there so what do I know. Very intriguing image to say the least. Somehow, I could sit here for a while and ponder this, but I must move on...

Whoa!!! What a KILLER shot! :) The haze in the air and the silhouette by the fence make this truly look like a vortex. The star-like light on the left almost makes the "vortex" appear to be in the middle of a solar system somewhere. :) Okay, well technically it is, but you know what I mean. :D
