My first entry.

I appreciate all the comments I've gotten on this so far. I was excited about the idea but had some trouble bringing it to a concrete image. I'm definitely coming from the creative idea angle and not very comfortable with technical details yet. So I appreciate all of what was point out...and I definitely see how the background just doesn't work here especially, and I'm learning more about focus as well.

I applaud everyone who had fun with this subject. Nice idea. Your focus is a bit off. I'm looking for it to be a DOF thing, but I'm not sure. Still a fun pic though.

Nice idea. Good warm colors. Focus is a little fuzzy.

the foil is not working for me. it would have been cool if you had some rainbow colored floats of painted some of the peas rainbow colored.

Definitely a unique entry for this challenge but I'm afraid it suffers from a couple of technical shortcomings. First, I like how you used depth of focus to lead the viewer's eyes towards the back of the image. The trouble is that the multicolored background causes the viewer's eyes to continue past the last sharply focused pea. The multicolored background also reflects a bit off the reflective base that the peas are placed upon, which promotes a flat look to the image. Most of these issues could have been prevented if you had used a dark solid covered background.

This is a nice idea however I think the foil would look better if you had pressed it down a bit smoother. also maybe remove one of the 2 candles at the back or use a darker backdrop. But Still 3 cheers for the original idea and being unique to the challenge..

the idea is good, but the lighting and focus is not great...the background is distracting...good colour and a creative attempt
