 I loathe using the cursed 'umbrella' in flash photography, but I used it in this one. Not particularly creative, but I tried to mirror a hot plate of peas with butter on top with a plate of frozen peas with an ice-cube on top :)

I originally intended for the ice to be clear, and I had a totally different shot planned but... did you know, putting water into the freezer immediately causes the air to be trapped in the cube, and thus the cube freezes white. To avoid this, water should be cooled over a longer period before reaching freezing point so that the air cap escape the water.

It didn't work when I tried it! :/

Your focus point is the ice but the ice really does not have any highlights in which your attention is drawn to. Give us something to look at.

Taking a pic of ice is hard, and this seems a little overexposed to me. Good idea though!

the focus is on the pea at the front, needed to be on the one in the ice cube...needs a bit of levels and saturation work as well...
