 This is Kabaya, one of many street performers in Waikiki.


To all of the "out of focus" comments... his face (the subject) is in razor sharp focus. I understand that his hand is not, but this is the effect I was hoping for. His hand is merely holding the flame... his mouth on the other hand is about to accept it. The anticipation of this action is what I am trying to convey. If his hand were in focus it would take the emphasis off of the most important part of this shot. Though I appreciate every comment, it kills me to hear that this shot is out of focus!! I will gladly provide a high res pic to anyone doubting that! Thank you all for your comments... even the snap shot remark. I'll keep trying!!

I quite like the angle on this - very cool (excuse me, hot) image! The colors are really warm and the fire is well captured. I see from your comment box above about the focus part. I have no trouble with the vast majority of the image, but I feel that you may be able to pull out just a little more sharpness pulled out of the image in post processing on the face (it's there it just needs a little UnSharpMask as a second layer - allowed in Advanced editing - to show it).

Chris - our family can't wait to get out to Hawaii next month!

Wowww. This just screams "National Geographic" to me - and not very many pictures make me think that! Great job on a very dramatic photo.
