Very funny and clever photo, assuming the "woman" is actually a man in drag.

Ok, I got you here, now you got a ribbon already while I'm too busy to compete.
Congrats! Nice Photo!

Woohoo! Congrats on the red! We have these signs out here in CA, kind of funny. Your wife is a good sport to go along with that. She's very pretty too, you're a lucky man!

Thanks for all of the comments!!! 1st challenge - 4th place - I'll take it even though it was a "stupid" challenge....
Passed up the sign on the way to a wedding (hence the dress) - on the way back saw a storm brewing on the horizon, remembered the sign, stopped, and was able to take 3 pictures. Between the traffic and the heat (97F) my wife didnt want to stand on side of the road very long.
To answer some of the comments - Yes the sign is real and I have seen a few of them in the Southeast US. I think they are "stupid" signs so I thought it would fit the challenge very nicely. Thanks Again!

Congrats on the 4th place.. Like I said before very very cool pic and deserving of its position.

Its really cool idea... simple but funny. Well done but i dont like something about composition...or angle or ladys distance from sign.

Hey that's in MB! Cool but dumb enough to be stupid. Good work 9.

Big points for humor! ;^) You've actually given some thought to the way the final image came out as well. I say that because the subjects (hitchhiker and sign) are well positioned in the frame, the image is well focused with a good DOF and well-balanced lighting. Even the sky cooperated for you. I'd wish you luck, but I don't think you'll need it. Congrats on a nice image and I'm sure a nice score.

Back to comment. One of the better challenge subjects. The lady looks a bit over dressed to be hitchin but that is just my opinion and won't affect the score I give you. A suitcase or broken down car could have been used as props for this subject. Bumping to an 8.

LOL! A shot of a car picking up a guy in striped suit, with a ball and chain would have made this a 10 for me. Still, very clever and humorous.

Great set-up. Is that really a real sign?? Way to milk it.

Awesome idea, gave you a 9. If the hitch hiker wa sa little closer it would have beeen a bit better. I think the idea would be perfect if it was a guy with tats and some really hairy arms and legs dressed up as a woman, but close enough to see all that. Then you would have a perfect 10. Good luck with the challenge.

Funny! He looks better than some of the females around here.
08/16/2006 11:03:52 AM
What I like: LOL, this is hilarious

What I don't like: Background is a bit busy, I especially don't like all of the power lines, but you had to be by the sign, and this idea is one of the best in the challenge. So who cares about the power lines, great job!

Some hitchhikers can be guaranteed a ride anywhere. She looks like she could be one of them.
