I think DPC is starting to get to me. You think of and idea for the Fire challenge, and before you know it you're driving around stealing people's roses and wondering if vanilla extract is flammable. I may need a break after this ;)

:::After Challenge:::

Okay, I admit it. I overdid it. Oh well, now I know better ;(

This is pretty close to what I had in mind for my original idea. However, I wanted the surrounding light to be more golden and the hands to belong to a man and be more 'grungy'. Still, I'm pretty happy with the way this turned out considering all of the editing and re-editing I had to do. Originally the middle of the rose had fire-starter in it, which essentially looked like a turd on fire...not very appealing. So I took the time to clone some petals, as well as darken the entire rose, "shave" off some of the model's fingers, airbrush the background, remove the glare, and smudge like crazy...as well as some other things.

My model wanted to go further with this challenge than I thought was legally possible, which led to the eventual burning of a shoe box. By the way, tissue paper is VERY flammable!

I realize that the model's hands aren't perfect and the tiny flame may not be the center of attention, but I hope most people like it, considering all the the time, effort, and burnt fingers I put into this :P

the lighting here is a bit harsh and I like some space between the top of the flame and the top of the frame so it didnt feel so cramped.

I like the idea, am not sure if its the editing or the way the shot was taken but the edges of the hands look a little odd (MHO)

The red here is very oversaturated and the candle flame is one big blown highlight.

Very neat idea. I like the composition it works centered and square cropped. I think it is a tad soft. The flame should be in the middle of the image the focal point I feel it is to close to the top of the image. Skin tones a to yellow and again not sharp enough. 5
