nice and simple but why cut off the top of the flame? |

But a single flame burns to remind us of those who have passed |

Hm, I think the title is very appropriate, because the first thing I see when I look at this is the back of a pair of flare-leg jeans. :-)
The photo is simple and elegant, but it says "fire" a little bit less to me than it would if the flame were a little more complex. However, I really like the composition and I think overall this is a great shot. |

Being almost symmetrical this one flame has an appeal to it. Very mystic. Good job. |

It's neat but it doesn't say WOW to me. I think having just the flame when other images have more going on either compositionally or technically, hurts this image. It looks almost as if it could be a piece of fabric. 4

nice; i see the line of a back, and it's very visually appealing. the deep orange against the black is also strikingly effective, and looks immediately really cool. the top of the flame loses its sharply defined edge evident in the rest (might have cropped it out myself) but otherwise very lovely. 8. |

The shape here is quite sensual, like a pair of gracefully slender legs, but the composition is slightly off center and rather flat. I would like to see this follow the rule of thirds, moved off to the right or left more dramatically, and some curves to give it some dimension. |

very nice, just wish the actual picture was smaller so you could see the whole flame at once |

Very sensual. The composition is a little bland but I'm not sure what would be better. |
