 I know you can see some of the lines. I don't know how to get rid of these, but it's gorgeous up here.

The lines are because the automatic exposure changed as you panned across. You must use manual exposure for shooting panoramas, and also manual focus if possible. Do a quick sweep across the scene to determine what exposure is the best, and use it for all the exposures.

then create layer masks and erase from ech layer so that the line isn't as obvious

You need to adjust levels (or curves) in each photo so that the contrast matches in each one. It's not as much of a pain in the rear as it sounds since (at least in photoshop) you can do it to each photo while having the entire panorama displayed.
