Great capture. Lots of action going on -- you can really feel the "energy" of the play in this shot. There is some subtle blurring going on which works here -- but the ball carrier's face is crisp which is very cool.

I like the blur that shows where the action is. I feel as though the actual action is kind of weird though, for one, I don't see anyone taking the guy down (maybe he is tripping, but I don't know...) also the way that his body is positioned, I can't tell but it looks like he doesn't have a left arm? I'm not keen on your cropping, although I don't know how I would have done it differently, the guy on the right is exxtremely distracting (the one headed out of the photo) Good job getting the ball in the photo, but there is just something that doesn't look right to me here...

Wow! Love how the helmet is in focus and the rest is slightly blurred, giving it a very dynamic feeling. Good luck. Very well done Jacko. 10

strenuous action captured well - eyes would be good, and slow shutter speed makes me search for body parts that are invisible to casual observation

Really great closeup and action!

The blurs are a bit overdone and a faster shutter speed would allow more detail and captured motion. Great capture and composition.

I think I would have cropped this so that the player's legs on the right weren't visible. They're kind of distracting to me.

All of the key ingredients for a good sports shot are here. This one's going for a ribbon.

i really like this shot. the only advice i have even though there is nothing you could really do about it, is that the left arm looks like it is missing at first and its the only very blurred part of the player as a whole which makes it kinda distracting. however, i still feel this should be a top shot this week.

A faster shutter speed and this would have been an excellent capture. Not bad as it is.

Having the helmet and upper torso of the 'main' player be in focus and the rest slightly out of it works well for this image. I'm not an expert of sports photography, and admit to not even reading much of the sports pages, but most of the images I recall always seem to be a select few players (perhaps it's a compositional thing), however, the fact that the frame is crowded by players emphasises the rush of the 'main' player. His struggle is obvious, the expression on his face suggests it, and the guy behind him looks like he's coming right for him too. This is a shot that makes me want to know what happened next, which would probably be explained in an accompanying article. It clearly demonstrates action, and dirty, strenous action at that. Very nicely captured.

Apparently one of the FEW first downs of that one for Bowie! Sorry they blew it to the tune of 36-6! :) Overall this turned out very nicely... the guy's helmet is in great focus and you captured a good moment. I may have tried cropping a little closer around the runner. There's a bit of stuff on the right in particular that doesn't really add to the shot. My only other suggestion would have been to try a faster shutter speed to eliminate some of the motion blur, but depending on the camera that's not always an easy possibility. Anyhow -- overall a great job! Hopefully they'll do better against McNeil this Friday :)
