Side perspective of the sideview mirror belonging to my husbands 1984 pickup truck. I chose the sideview mirror because it had a smaller mirror imbedded in it so you can see many things around you at different sizes. Took the shot early evening with a polarizer purple-orange cokin filter that I held up manually to the lens. Then I
opened in photoshop
adjusted the curves slightly
played around with the hue/saturation
a little USM
and then resampled for the web.

The cool purple and the fiery yellow/orange creates a nice contrast. The focus is sharp so you can see many details. Bravo, for finding an interesting and beautiful photo in everyday objects. I love the colors and this photo would look nice on a wall with a frame like focuspoint said.

I like the colors, reflections and abstract feel of this shot.

It's always worthwhile experimenting, but this one just doesn't seem to work for me.

found it hard to determine the shape of the truck becasue of the shiny-ness, perhaps not zoomed quite so tight

Unoriginal and the colorization is very unappealing

You should put a purple frame to this.. or black ;)

This may not be for many people but it instantly caught my attention. I love the tone in this, I'm not sure if a filter was used to grab those wonderful purple colors or how that was accomplished but it has a very abstract/modern neon thing going that I think really really works with the explosion of shapes you've captured here. The clarity is great, nice use of the natural light and I love composition for the most part. The one thing I do wish is that it could've been composed so that gap in the top where the trees aren't cover was not there - either they'd be visible through the window/reflected in something else so they have the purple/yellow toning too or just composed so they aren't in the image at all. Still that's a fairly minor issue. I'm bumping up from a 7 to an 8 and adding a favorite.

I really don't care for the purple (sorry). It would have gotten a couple extra points from me without that treatment.

Nice Abstract. Love the 2 colors together and the multiple reflections.

Sorry, I don't care for the lsd inspired post processing in the least. A lot of nice reflections here that might have been interesting. Looks like the sky might be blown out but who can tell given the extreme color shifts here. I think this could have been a nice shot.
