I didn't think I was going to enter this contest until I saw my son busting up some of his old toy cars with a hammer into little bits and pieces. I gathered up the pieces, got my daughters black satin graduation dress for the background. Setup everything in the laundry room. While shooting I manually held up a polarizer filter to reduces the glare on the cars. Opened the JPEG file in photoshop. I didn't do a whole lot of post processing.

It killed me to leave the dust particles in the photo but when I went back and read the rules it said I was not allowed to do any cloning to remove the dust particles. So I left them.

It just doesn't grab me. If you could have added a unique perspective on it perhaps but as it is it is just a pile of broken toys - sorry.

More attention to composition, details of specks on the cloth and how the cloth itself is sitting and capturing light may have helped improve your shot. That being said, it's definitely bits and pieces!
