 after more practice got better at editing. But now I have to get a lens more conducive to IR. the 28-75 has a noted center area that is really difficult to edit around. you can see the remains of it in the right tree in the bottom left of the leaves. maybe I'll just have to get a 50mm. :)

Thanks to Judi for some tips. I'm ready to try again today...
