| Definite zen here, both by challenge definition and my inner measure of zen. I like the contrast between the color of the sky and the flower and I like the dramatic backdrop all those interesting clouds add to the mix. The image looks oddly sharpened to me and the lighting on the flower is a bit harsh IMO. I think this is a nice photo that has some good elements in it but it just doesn't gel together into a 'wow' sort of image for me. I gave a 4 |

| I suspect you were going for simplicity, but this feels busy to me. The plant/flower almost looks out of place from it's background, like the light is wrong somehow. That's just my perception. |

| This almost looks surreal. I think it's because the sky/clouds aren't in focus (you must have used a shallower aperture, say F11 or so?). Not that that is a bad thing as it allows the stem and flower bud pop out a little more. Should be ok for meeting the Zen group for this. ;^) Good luck. |
