|Taken just before 1 am in the morning in heavy fog and almost no wind. Used a polarizer for the darkened effect on the water and a tripod obviously.
Post processing was mostly increasing contrast, cropped to a 7:4 ratio, a curves adjustment on just the rock and water, sharpened after resizing and added the vignetting. Healing brush to remove some of the water and little use of dodge/burn to darken the lightest portions of the photo and vice versa.
I firmly believe this photo will bomb and score very low, that or be extremely mediocre in this challenge but I really like it. I just went against the "rules" of dpc, no cyan in photos, low contrast, might even be called by less experienced photographers as being out of focus and not dramatic at all, I firmly expect a lot of comments about it needing to be clearer, sharper, more contrast etc.
I still really like it and this photo works well printed out BIG, this is one of those photos that doesnīt really work well in web resolution. Itīs going up on our wall at home along with two other similar shots I took the same night. Oh well, hopefully at least one of you will favorite it :)
