I don't agree with Leroy, the fact you put the effect in the background too is more surreal.

I like this a lot. I do like the hair extending into the black where the flower is as it seems to make the red of the flower "bleed" into the black.

I love the effect :-)
One suggestion that I think would look good would be to belectively remove the effect from the backgound, leaving the texture on the flower only.
That's just my opinion and actually might not look that good :-)
