In meditation you try to empty your mind...the wind was blowing, and there was nothing else happening.
Calculations, duplicate soft light, curves, duplicate multiply, curves 2, quadtone, LAB sharpen usm, added border.
Note: without realizing it I may have subconsciously imitated jjbeguin's wheat...I just saw it, and am sure I have seen it before..not intentional, but would like to make this note anyway..

Exquisite. I love the choice of black & white here. I also like the how expansive it all feels. Typically I don't find much zen (or serenity as zen is described in the challenge) in images that have a lot going on. I think this one because of the uniformity of the 'chaos' really works towards a zen feel though. I like the depth of the focus and the lighting looks very good. I think I would crop just a bit off from the top, there's an almost natural break in the wheat line about half an inch from the top and that's where I'd do my cropping. Very nice image. I gave a 7
great shot! -i wish to see this in color... i love the detail of the grains facing in different direction. its moving... dancing... i can feel the wind blowing... goodluck.
I like this shot a lot, but I don't like it in this challenge. Colors (or lack of) are great, but the wheat (I assume it is wheat) is so noisy as to make for a very chaotic image in a challenge that asks for serenity and harmony. A shallower dof might have helped a bit with this by knocking out some of the details as the image recedes into the background. The dark areas at the top left of the image and to a lesser extent the top right detract from the continuity of the image. Like I said, I like this shot but it's just not meeting the challenge descs as well as I would hope. 4.
