Taken in the morning in front of an old folks home.

Greyscaled to soft focus with some dodge and burn.

The background is just more grass. It is just there and nothing I can do to change that, but I could have taken it out completely and just made it all dark. I will have to see if I kept the original and rework it to Konandor's suggestions. It has two favorites so it looks like a few liked it :--)

the blurred background does look fake - if it truly isnt then I would dump that lens as it has horrible DOF. Too dark and flat overall

I do like the dark, it works well, I just feel the tones are a little flat. Just bringing the whites out a little more would keep it dark, yet increase the contrast making the image "pop" more :)

I liked it dark. I don't know why. Sometimes I just feel like being creepy. :--)

The background is not fake blurred, but it was given soft focus. It is real though. I like to play and play until I get it the way I like it. I think this photo in its original form was just to boring. Two squirrels eating. Whoooopee. :D It was dark to begin with because they were under a shaded tree. So I just processed it like this. It seemed to work best. Thanks for the comment!

The photo looks nice, if not a little dark. Boosting the highlights in the levels would help I think. Did you fake the blurred background? It doesn't look real at all. I think the editing is a bit too in-your-face. I prefer subtle edits really. Overall a really cute photo tho :)
