This is my most blatant use of commonly used tehnique and subject yet. The title is a double entendre referring to the elements that tend to make for a high-scoring DPC image: Focus, a clean background, blends and nice tones, simplicity, and a frozen moment in time with a liquid always helps ... Not to mention meeting the challenge (arguably as always). This was sort of an experiment just to see how it would look. 1) focus camera using lens cap in center / above glass ... 2) set to manual to stop autofocus. 3) Take test shots to make sure settings are right 4) Set camera on remote activated timer. 5) Drop at the right time. The sunlight was strong enough to have the shutter pretty fast and allow me to capture this frozen moment.
Glass was placed in front of my sliding glass window (actually the window was open as if anyone cares since the window was dirty) ... with the usual frosted glass tabletop piece standing behind the subject. Sleective sharpening, cleaning / removing drops, crop/rotate, cleaned up ice a bit.

I like it a lot, although I would have liked to see more on top. The image feels a bit too tight. Is it ice that you tossed into the glass?

This is a nice shot. I think it fits the challenge with a grayscale look to it.

The water level in the glass belies the angle of the glass (should be spilling over!) This is the only fault I can see in this fantastic image - crystal (sic) clear, beautifully lit, sharp as and great compo.

IMHO I think a black background would improve your score with voters in this challenge.

Great Job!

Nicely done. Angling the glass is a neat touch. It's a shame that the shutter speed required for a shot like this forces some of the droplets out of focus, but I'm not sure what you can do about that.
